I am about to start my tape collection
im off to a good start.
anyhow - i need to know if there are do and donts on casette tapes.
obviously I dont want to mess them up or accidently erase them.
cleaning dirt off a casette tape - use warm moist towell ? use water sparingly ?
avoid contact with the tape itself would be obvious id think
storing them = keep away from direct sunlight / uv rays ?
buying them on line = shipping to me - would anything done to a package in shipping possibly cause the tape to erase ? by a magnet checker or something like that in the shipping wearhousing places ? this would be terrible if so.
any info you guys can give me to start off my tape collection and keep it functional as long as possible would be super
thanks in advance. ps - my collection is going to mostly comprise of 80's 90's rap / dance / hiphop / and maby some crossover type rock rap generas so im going to be hunting down some tapes - and am verry wary of how they will fair in shipping to me - if the quality of the recording is going to be affected I guess during shipping going thru the x ray machines and what not at shipping wearhousing if they even do that kind of stuff.
