I got a TRC-975 and there's some what seems to be candle wax on the lower half of the box on the chrome and plastic. How should I go about removing the wax? Is there anything at the store I can buy?

you could try softening the wax with a hair dryer and wiping it off when it's soft enough ,just don't apply too much heat for too long to one spot .

This is the stuff I have on my box. In the pictures, it's under the cassette deck buttons. All on the lower half basically. It's tough to get out, unless I'm not scraping hard enough, but I'm trying to carefully scrape it off.

I took these pictures off blu_fuz's post about selling his 975.

i have cleaned these using water mixed with comet cleanser using a soft tooth brush to scrub the buttons slowly and it worked great , just have to either remove the buttons or somehow make sure no water gets into the radio while cleaning.

I have the same issue with my L30. It's looks like its caked on. I've tried a dremel with the soft polishing wheel helps take off most of it. But don't leave it on too long or you'll pull off the chrome as well. good luck.

Try using a paste made from baking soda and water. Then, use a soft-bristled toothbrush to scrub it away. Don't use too much paste though - it gets everywhere. But, it wipes off easily with a moist cloth.
