Can i die from opening up a box ?

Well fellows iv never opened up a boombox before..... that lighting bolt on the back kinda creeps me out.
My question is how do i not get electrocuted ? other than it not being plugged in...lol

There's not really much to worry about as far as being electrocuted. Just remember these things:

1) unplug the AC power cord
2) remove all batteries
3) unplug any DC adapter if you use one for power
4) stay away from water
5) work in a location that won't build up a lot of static electricity

One thing I do, whether it helps or not, is push the power button with all power unplugged.

Good thing is after the transformer there is only between 6-18 volts dc current running on most boxes
