Hi all
Ok so I recently just got back in contact with a very old friend of mine, we grew up together in the same town sharing the same interests, one of them being boomboxes and one inparticular hitachi Trk-8600 that we constantly kept trading between us.....this was way back when we was still at school so back then we thought it was the business!
Unfortunately bad news has brought us back together again, his wife Is battling cancer and had her breast removed and he's also lost his mum to cancer all in the same year,on top of all that he has a serious back problem due to a hit and run accident years ago
I'm going to take a trip down to see him as he moved away and I really want to surprise him with a hitachi Trk-8600 as a gift
Can anyone please sell me one or even trade one....it doesn't have to be mint nor the tape deck working just a half decent one that he can pug his iPhone into
I would be very greatful for any help on this

Maybe I can, Lee. I can send back to you, with a fast express courier, the one you traded with me years ago. Read the pm.

Correction: I tried to send a pm but I can't. Surely your mailbox is full? Anyway I can ship the box via express courier on Monday, it should be by you no later than Friday. No trade, no money, its for a good cause. If you will, maybe we can share shipment costs. Let me know.

We can share shipment costs so that they're not too expensive (a speedy delivery may be relatively expensive for one person, but I guess it's ok for two). But I won't accept neither additional money nor a trade for the Hitachi. I'd really give it away as a present. Believe me, I understand pain very well these days. So if I can bring a sparkle of joy to your friend, I'll be more than happy.

Lee thats a sad story your old friend had. It is nice to read that you got together and you thought of
giving him a Hitachi TRK-8600 .
It so nice to read that Salvatore kindly offered to give you one for free
for that purpose.
For me i have a warm feeling in my heart by reading this topic. It makes me think
that TRUE caring people are still around and most of all you are between us.

Anybody who knows Sal shouldn't be surprised. He's one of a kind. Lee this is such a sad story but one that will have a great ending with the Hitachi.

This community is one of a kind and Sal is living proof of that. Cheers to you both. I can honestly say I've had nothing but great interactions, sales and exchanges with members here and they have been above and beyond great.

P.S. I can't wait to read the follow up to this story...

Im speechless you guys are awesome Sal im new here but i can tell it amazes me sometimes how a sensible person can male a diference in this world, i wish we all get in touch with that feeling. Sorry to hear the bad news but glad you guys can help somehow...
