hi, i have a gf575, which is only working with 1 speaker (2 when it feels like it) ive tested the speakers on another stereo and they both work fine, so it must be an electrical fault inside. ive opened it up in the hope it might be a broken wire/loose connection, but i cant see anything of the such. also the auxillary is very quiet. to be honest i dont know too much on what im looking for, so any help on what the fault is or how it can be fixed would be appreciated

cheers

I had exactly this problem with my 575, also on line-in during recording.

Turned out to be the function selector switch suffering from intermittent contact - I sprayed a little switch cleaner into it and it seems to have been absolutely fine ever since. ;-)

thanks i'll try to find some of that. i did get both speakers working this morning, but when i flicked one of the switches, the left went again. i think it was the dolby switch

did you have problems with the speakers not working as well, or was it just the line in?

:agree: i would also just lubricate all the selector switches if possible ,just a small shot in each one not using too much then work the switches back and forth .

Yes, one channel was cutting out or dropping down significantly during playback, the same effect was observed during recording.

I think those switches are all prone to this issue, and as JVC Floyd suggested, it would be a good idea to shoot them all with some cleaning spray.

Good luck, she's a lovely machine  :surf:
