Can anyone give me any info on a CALEX Boombox?

Hi there,

This is my first post. I have only recently started to collect boomboxes. I have bought a lot of them. My wife is beginning to get mad at me because our spare bedroom is full of them.

Just today I picked up a Calex boombox. I do not know anything about it other than the fact that it is awesome. It has to be from the 60s I'm guessing.

It has an analog clock on the front and quite a bit of features to be as old as it is. I will upload a pic.

I was just looking for some info on it.

Never heard of a Calex, but I would say it looks more like a clock radio than a boombox.

but it IS a boombox....tape deck....radio....handle....batteries......not my cup of tea but thats some OG **** right there!

I do not know much more than you about that Calex, but I know that that type of configuration of early boomboxes its not was so unusual.

Aiwa (Jens) would have more info to tell us about your Calex for sure but unfortunately he stopped with posting here lately.

It wouldn't normally be my kind of thing but I kind of like it now. I couldn't pass it up at a car boot sale for a couple of squids. I might drop it on ebay and see what happens. I'll at least get my money back neeee bother.
