I recently treated myself to a present -a great condtion TPR 950 which I first bought new as a teenager in `78/79.
Mine is in good full working order with the exception of the tape counter belt ..though yet to try it with batteries (before I shell out on a set of re-chargeables)
I`ve read on this forum that they are a bit of a pain in the butt to service so ideally I like someone with a bit of an interest in boxes rather than just a pure financial interest to check it out .
As the main tape belts must have been replaced at some point in the last 40 + years I`d like someone to check the current state of them and replace if they are a bit suspect.
I`ve seen parts on eBay in Germany (pinch roller/idler tyre and what looks like a counter belt ) so I`m hoping these can be grabbed whilst spares are still available.
I`ve no idea how many other belts are in this model but whilst they`re running it may give any one servicing it a fighting chance to measure the belts and source close size replacements before these turn to mush.
Pre-Brexit I`d have been happy to even send it within europe if necessary but with all the added V.A.T and customs chrges now that makes it unfeasible :0(
Still sounding as fab today as I remember it when picking it from a shortlist of about 5 different brands and models back in `70`s after cleaning the heads and rollers though.
