Eh today received an unexpected call from a friend, tells me there is a radio of those you love, is a sharp gf 9090, is on sale for 5 euros you want?. And the answer was buy it. after 20 minutes this in my hands.
At the moment I am trying, defects found, the right channel in FM sometimes works and sometimes it sounds very low, the cassette in play is slow, and not while the tape rolled up, and most ugly is a blow to the left side, but I'm happy with this call I'm glad the morning . :-D :-D :breakdance:

Congrats on the find! Bummer about the chip missing out of the corner, but for the price you can't complain. Some of our more creative members may have some suggestions about how to fill that hole in and make it look right again...

And the tape decks in these are pretty easy to work on.... looks like it has some real potential, could be a good project box for you!

now that is a friendship you want to have and what you can call a real friend.
nice boombox and good deal to boot.

you know i had a friend who knew i was into old boomboxes and i told him if he ever came across any big old radios for twenty bucks to just pick them up and i would give him the cash. well after the third time he told me how he saw a huge old radio and didnt pick it up for me i decided maybe he was no friend at all.

it would have been one thing if i had been asking the guy to front hundreds of dollars for stuff but for twenty bucks a pop i am sure he could have at least made the effort.

Congrats good find,

As its only the corner of the front case that's damaged, you might get lucky asking for the front casement on the Forum's, there's enough of these about to make me think there could be a few parts boxes owned by members.

Failing that I would look out for a cheap/non-working GF9090 off ebay, switch the front case with yours and then stick the other one straight back up on ebay as a project/parts box, saves trying to rebuild the corner and never getting it quite right.
I guess you would be most likely to get hold of the 9090 with mesh grills but you could maybe switch the grills/covers as well if you wanna stay true to the original look?

I wish someone would ring me up about something like this, good project box

Thanks to everyone for the comments today are done cleaning and reassembly.
now looks much more decent. clean the potentiometers.
But sige giving me a fault in the right channel in 2 channel mono sound at the same level, but wide stereo or stereo left channel sounds more. Lounnes control did not respond well before the cleanup but now it works.
deck the play is slow, I guess that will be belts, seen the counter and it looked very dry. I leave some photos more, and sorry for some spelling mistakes, eh always been able to read most of what I write in English, but luckily there is GOOGLE!
