I swear I came across this topic a while back.

Anyway, I was cleaning out my phone and I came across THIS:

I've never seen anything like it, before or since. I swear - If it wasn't dead I would have burned the building down! This was a speaker on a Panny
RX-DT630.

And then I remembered fixing up a Sony CFD-444 that sits on my desk at work. I found lots of pine needles, sawdust, and dead carpenter ants. Then this little squatter scared the sh!t out of me when I was about to pull the deck:

He no longer resides in my radio.

Here's my latest find. These were just two of about 10-12. They were dead for a long time:

I think this M70 spent a portion of it's life in a commercial kitchen or something - a kitchen with roaches.
Again, If they had been alive you can refer to the beginning of the thread.

Getting the bugs out of my boomboxes is very high on my list of priorities. Insects and electrical issues have one thing in common: They're effin' bugs.

Anyone else have this problem?

I believe these boxes were used by the previous owner in a dirty garage or some place like that.

I believe Roach Poop is acidic which will accelerate corrosion to metal parts. :w00t: :w00t:

Roach droppings are a disaster!

I think they do the biggest mess if it resided in the boxes.

I got an M70 that had cobwebs the size of a quarter at one corner right under the dial glass. It was a pain to clean it all up without removing the dial glass. I used little water pressure and soap to clean it all and then compressed air to dry it. Final rinse was done with deionized water not to leave any water spotting.

Not so many bugs here in the UK...one of the few advantages of crap weather ;) Found a few spiders but that's it thankfully

The creature in the Panny was, by far, the scariest. It was about 1 1/2" long and had 6000 legs and curly antennas. The others were identifiiable, so there wasn't as much "shock factor." Thank God it was dead.

Oh, and yes, Royce. I did clean up all the roach sh!+. I'm thinking of applying for a job with the city sewer dept.

Same here. Bugs in boxes really seem to be ubiquitous as I have had them, too.

Just think. Somewhere. someone is eating them covered in chocolate or such...
