920 & 922


Too bad the 922 is beat to hell. I'm deciding if it will ba a parts box. Cassette doesn't work, damage to the back case, paint scuffed to crap, battery door missing, and only picks up one FM station barely. AM works great though . Someone on fleabay was selling 4 boxes in one auction and he said one was a Lasonic. I asked what it was and that was the only I had him ship to me so I could save on the shipping cost . He said "what about the other 3?" I told him to keep them, re-list just those, or throw them away. haha

The 920 is perfect in every aspect and a Chicago craigslist find . Thanks to a friend of mine for picking it up for me. What a pal

I can kinda relate to your situation. A few days ago, I put back together my 922 that sat disassembled for over 2 years ('cause it arrived with a dead channel)
and planned on getting rid of it. But after shining it up real nice and adding the antennas from one of my 931's (perfect size/fit), it looks fantastic!

I used to have the woofers in my 920 but I put 'em back in the 922. I don't have the crossover caps and I forgot how the tweeters were connected
so now it's just a great looking box box with no sound.

Now I'd like to get my hands on a 918 and 915.

But anyway, I think you should keep it - at least until you find another in working order.

Hey blu, how do you like the sound of that 922? Does it at least sound good? I got my 922 a few weeks ago and she is a looker! She puts out real good bass and the highs are crisp. Right now mines at the shop getting serviced. Works great! Cassette a little slow is my only problem.

Either way I LOVE this lasonic. I hope you enjoy yours too

Well, I wish I could give you a report on the sound, but I don't have any clean audio to play through it. My RCA cord and my MP3 player are MIA :annoyed: .


Now that I have it and the front side is presentable, I might just shelf it for now until I can get to fixing it.....

They are a great pair to have. I like the 920 much better than the 922, but the floating tweeter on the 922 is so damn cool!

Well when you get around to fixing that 922, could you give us a comparison of the two?
I've always thought they are the same works, just different looks between the 920 and the 922.

Congrats blu, I tried to work something out with the seller also but obviously I lost the auction.

Yeah, the auction was pretty cheap but when you list the 4 boxes and only one picture like this:

Then you just take a shot in the dark and hope to snag it. Like you said, the other 3 weren't worth the cost of shipping hhaha. I won the auction for $22 and paid $17 to ship. I could have passed on it but I was hoping for a diamond in the rough, but I got a turd in the rough instead .
