Broken Cassette Door

Not sure if this is the exact place for this question, but here goes.

One of my boxes is in pretty good condition except for the cassette door. The little plastic latch that clicks into place to hold it steady when closed has broken off. What do you guys suggest as a method to remedy this situation? Superglue? Lamb sacrifice?

Cheers

mmmmmm, lamb! :angelic:

Epoxy, maybe? That's what worked for me. Someone else has probably got a better solution. I'm sure there are more expensive fixes...

Then the lamb (which ain't cheap these days...)

What model box Steve? :hmmm: :-)
Yeah, depending on what boombox you have, it might even be better to see if someone can get you the part.

Well from what the label on the back says, it's a "Sensor RT-1246E" I think it's some offbrand or something seeing as I could not find anything on the internet about it... or maybe I just wasn't looking in the right places! (or by the right name..) I can take a picture when I get home, I've been posting from campus today. |-)

Heres what I have done in the past to restore the plastic piece that the door "clicks" onto to close.

Taken a small nail or tac and cut it in half. Held the sharp end over the oven to heat it with some nose pliers and had the case next to the oven on the counter.
Melted the piece into the plastic where the piece used to be. Wallaa, a new piece that doesn't break and still allows the cassette door to close perfectly.
When I did this, the nail held perfectly in the plastic due to being heated into place.
