It be the truth man. Maybe back when the Wheelys were new they might have been better. Mine is re-capped, cleaned up, and near mint condition but still clips at low volume on batteries and the woofers fart at 3/4 volume plugged in to the wall unless I bring the bass way down..... The amps are just too small for these boxes and that's why Lasonics 8" speaker boomboxes are better.

Blasterpunk said something along those lines a year ago, that Lasonic had the best sound among all of the big black boxes.
I don't know about that 'cause the only other big black box I own is the Tecsonic J-1 Super Jumbo, but I can say that
my Lasonic TRC-931 sounds better and has deeper bass than the J-1 despite the fact that the J-1 is louder.
Regardless, I wouldn't mind having a Helix Wheely 5000 like THA FUZZ
(I gotta have the fake but movable spectrum analyzer display)!

you could try the lasonic woofers in the j1 i bet that would sound and look bad ass , too bad you couldn't transfer the j1 dust caps to the lasonic woofers
.to me the lasonic 8 inch woofers have the best bass of any of the 8 inch woofers i have seen in boomboxes , and thats a lot
. they kick ass and make most of the big boxes sound better .

That's an interesting idea!
Yeah, the big-ass dust caps on the J-1 are impressive! Adding those to the white Lasonic woofers...
I guess it could be done with a J-1 parts box, but those are extremely hard to come by.
It would also help if Lasonic started selling loose woofers again.

You are still right on MONO - the Wheely is still something to have in a collection. Best idea for great performance and sound is to bypass the factory amps and have a stand-alone board in there that runs the woofers like they are meant to be.
