Boxes coming thick and fast

Why is it when i'm not working I seem to be accumulating more boxes than ever before - I'm actually having to refuse some!

Sony CFS 77 - turned up today

Sharp GF 525 - found in local paper - cheap as chips and minty

Not a new acquisition - I just thought I hadn't taken enough of the Akai AJ 480

Awia - wanted this guy's M70 but had to settle for this beater 600 - it sounds surprisingly good

My first proper BOX since I started collecting - Panasonic RX 5250
TBH when I got this I didn't intend to start collecting - but this box is SO good - I had to collect all the hi end Panasonics

JVC Quintet PC5 - fubared speaker foams - but clean

yeh man - i don't plan getting any more "bits boxes"

The Aiwa was purely a curious thing - tape deck and ariel broken


The Sony gets indifferent reviews on here and Stereo2Go - but with 8" woofers and Sony build quality I took a punt
Sounds realy good - seperate tone controls awould have MADE this box - but the tape and tuner section both sound great

in fact i've decided to do some full reviews soon

I like the Sony and in fact I have mine on the shelf loaded with batteries, it gets frequent use. I think they look great and sound very good but the two big drawbacks are it only has that tone control (no bass boost button either) and the amp is only 1 watt per channel (according to the service manual) so it doesn't get very loud.
