Boomin at the mall

Had the IMt-800 out at the park with Jake and his cousins yesterday around lunch
time we decided to venture into the mall for some lunch..
I took it into the mall primarily cause I didnt want to leave it in the car.
We cranked some tunes out while in the mall, the acoustics were astounding.
Got some interesting looks and the youths for the most part seemed interested.
Hopeful the boombox craze will catch on again.
Am I crazy for being hopeful???

i usually dont crank my boxes in the mall

because i play them very loud.

and the local mall is small.

but i will surely take it to the bigger ones and play some tunes at mid to hi , i mean lo

volumes...

...lovin it!!...I plan on doing the same with my daughter because she loves boomboxes...my white M70 is perfect for the occasion....I also plan on a lot of visits to the beach this summer...can play my box as loud as I want there!!...good stuff Frank.

I like it! There definitely is a reason why they are called portable stereo!

I also love bringing my Crown 850 to school and blast the corridirs in the breaks^^. And the good thing: No teacher takes it away because with 9 D cell batteries, it is way too heavy for them Bwahahahaha

Oh, and Hemiguy, I also hope for the boombox to become fashionable again

Looking at it being carried, I think the only thing I don't like about that box is that the handle doesn't stick up like the handles on traditional boomboxes. It looks awkward to me, but does it feel awkward to you having your hand/fingers that far down into the box when you carry it around?

I love toting a boombox around and I dont care what anyone may think,
but is sure is kool when people on look in amazement when they hear the sounds that come from these beasts.
It is roughly 15 lbs loaded with 8 d batteries and extremely easy to carry.
Its recessed handle doesnt hinder carrying it around at all , in fact it puts your thumb right near all the controls including the volume for a true one handed operation.
The only thing is you need to take a little care when switching hands as the handle is not very long.
BTW Ira I brought the Altec to Donna's house today and she totally liked it!!!
We spent the afternoon with them today.
