I wish it was just that easy to go somewhere to buy a box.
EBay is a crapshoot, lots of A-holes that try to get over on mother f'rs.
You gotta hunt for em' man!

Word of mouth is always good. Tell everyone you know your looking for them. Someone they know probably has one stashed in their garage or closet. Post ads. Make flyers, post on Craigslist( this has worked the best, so far, for me.)
Thrift shops the dump you name it. Just keep your eyes open. They'll start to pop up.

Good luck.

All the ones on ebay that appeal to me are redunkoulously priced at 300$ when I have seen them for cheaper at thrift stores. Can not blame them they probably had to dig to find them which is understandable. Like you said though hunting is the best thing because I will have selection and also the prices most of the time will be reasonable compared otherwise.

The most I've ever paid for a box was $200. And that was for an immaculate JVC M90.
The rest rarely hit over a hundo.
Just be patient you'll find them and it won't break the bank.
