Hey y'all,

Last month at The Daisy Age party in Amsterdam we had a collection of original boomboxes for decoration You can check them out at our The Daisy Age Facebook. Anyway, last weekend I was in Berlin to spin and because I was all hooked up with those classics I went out to find one at the old scrap markets. Check out what I found:

One of my best German friends (lived there for 17 years, including most of the 80's) had one of those Phillips boxes.

Sad to say it was louder than my Sharp GF-9292. Sounded pretty good too!!!!

I say you picked up a good one there, worth keeping for sure.

Thanks guys, the Philips goes pretty loud indeed!!

Unfortunately the tapedeck is not playing. It is making a connection though, so maybe the snares are just dried out. I will check out the other forum threads to see if can fix this.

See here some of the pictures from the boxes we had at The Daisy Age. The boomboxes are going to be there next edition too so if someone is in Amsterdam around 12th of February, let me know! Legendary DJ Edzon from the Patta store (Amsterdam incrowd, sorry) will be playing. We had a couple of massive Sharps too able to play vinyl. Those really rocked. Massive.
