Hello. I had a Toshiba bombeat 16 sent from Hungary. It hasn’t moved in 3 weeks so I fear it may be lost. The seller says it’s my problem and his responsibility ends when he dropped it at the post office. What do you guys think?

If through eBay, it is the sellers responsibility to ensure that the package arrives to you and in good safe condition.
The seller should be contacting the shipping company to resolve since they purchased the shipping.
It is not uncommon for international parcels to take a good 3-4 weeks in the current climate.

A parcel I sent which normally takes 1-week took 5. It’ll get there. Customs & this virus thing has screwed everything up.

Thanks. It’s been close to a month. My problem isn’t waiting. It’s that the seller purchased no insurance and said if the boombox never shows up it’s not his problem and there isn’t going to be a refund. I suggested that I wait as long as possible until the point where PayPal will not allow me to file a claim. After that he could just say tough luck like he is saying now.

yes i agree with everyone, this may take much longer due to the way things are at the moment, there was one guy waited about 8 weeks a couple of years ago for a 767 and things were normal back then

Were you ever given a tracking number? I would think looking up the tracking number would tell you where the package is.

If you and the seller used PayPal then you can start an un received item dispute because there should be proof of delivery even without a tracking number.

Just ordered something from overseas. Had to pay an extra premium to get it in a reasonable time, due to COVID. I researched and found that many overseas shippers (UPS, FED, DHL) laid off a ton of personnel due to the virus. I would receive my stuff in 10+ weeks, paid $54 to receive it in a week.

Either way with Ebay or P/P, seller's are responsible until the package is tagged as delivered. You can't make the claim, use the other posters advice with P/P if that's the case; or ride it out but don't wait longer than 90 days.

Insurance does not help you the buyer. If the item is damaged it's the seller's responsibility, and Ebay will make him refund you, regardless of whether or not he has insurance. If he purchased insurance, he can take it up with the shipper, but you the buyer will never hear about it because you don't need to know about it. You get refunded regardless.

Personally I never buy insurance. Most forms of insurance are a waste of time and money, as the company will do everything in their power to avoid paying, and the paperwork is a waste of my time anyway. I've saved a lot of money by never buying insurance. Much more than I've lost in the 2-3 items I shipped that got damaged.

Sellers aren't even required to purchase signature delivery, unless the item is worth $750 or more.

I think you are worrying too much. It literally could take months. I have ordered stuff from overseas that has taken over 2 months. The item that I mailed out was supposed to take less than 1-week and I paid extra, $45 for priority mail for a 3-oz package. Instead it took over a month! eBay will allow you to file a claim up to 6-months I think. If you are going to order overseas at the moment, everything takes a very long time. Currently, if there is something that I "need" to have by a certain time, I don't even bother overseas anymore, no matter how cheap. Keep the transaction number handy because it gets hard to find after 60 days, but eBay will definitely allow you to file claim, even months later.

I made a deal on a mini on 3rd April in Paris. Its still in Paris. No flights coming down to NZ so no mail.
If someone is expecting no delays on international mail then they are in dream land.
Your package should have a tracking number which will say where it is.

Contact the seller but, on several instances, packages from overseas or other international sellers may get hung up in customs. Almost every time my packages from Canada show no movement for a couple of weeks, then all of a sudden it’s in my city or nearby. Buying from international sources requires patience but continuous monitoring.

Yep, just be patient. I saw a seller mention in an item description yesterday that some of his domestic shipments with USPS are taking up to a month, so I wouldn't expect international to be any better
