Bolt Box aka’s and the ‘dent’

This is my Bolt box and aka’s.
They don’t photograph very well indoors so thought I’d get them together outside.

The General is from Australia, the Stereo Sonic’s were bought from Germany and France. The Kasuga was sourced locally from UK as well as a parts box that helped with the resto on all of them.

The ‘dent’ is a little crease in the plastic in between the treble knob and mode switch. All 5 of my boxes have this little flaw as well as this box pictured from the Internet. There must of been a little kink or something in the factory tooling or molds way back then.
Any other owners see the same thing on their aka’s? It’s very subtle.

I noticed something similar on the 777 and aka cases that seem to have a little wave where the back meets the front. All of my big GFs have it.
I believe it is due to the process of the plastic being pressed into the mold. With the cooling down the plastic shrinks a little bit. There is probably a screw right underneath that dent or it was simply the point where the plastic entered the mold (on the inside of the case).
However, that is just my theory.
Nonetheless, your bolt box akas look stunning, man!

Dang, that's a nice family of boomers! The bars across the speakers remind me of the steering wheels found in some cars from the '50s and '60s.

Nailed it! Dents like this occur along planar surfaces when the mold thickness exceeds the practical limits of the injection process. One I can think of right off the top of my head is the back of the the C-100F tray by the guide pin.

Haha no I think I must of hit submit on my tablet and it didn't go through lol.

Seriously nice group tho. I like the round speaker grills best but they all have their charm, I'm with FD the horizontal bits on the speakers do remind me of old Momo wheels...
