OK - I picked up an early 90's GT Vertigo BMX bike at a rummage sale for $10 :-D . Kinda tattered up, chips, decals not so good, etc.... It's all complete with original parts and tires are original GT with more than 75% tread left.....

Here is the question:

I looked on ebay for one with the same paint combo as mine. I found a GT Performer that looks identical besides the wheels. His has the 3 spoke mags and mine has the wire wheels. My Vertigo is in the same condition as this Performer, almost a perfect match honestly.
EPAY PERFORMER:

Bidding is up to $300 on the Performer, what makes it so valuable? The color/wheel combo? Would the Vertigo version of this bike do well, like even 1/2 the price of the Performer?

I'm more of an oldshcool ELF/Redline/Mongoose guy so if I have a diamond in the rough here with my Vertigo, I will most likely sell it......

Throw your ideas/knowledge at me if you can. Thanks guys ;-)

I did some more research and it my Vertigo is probably a 1992. That's the only year they came out with the neon yellow colorway paint job. They are more rare because of the color - I think the Vertigo is the underdog of the Performer but they are about equal in desireability..... :hmmm:

I cant say anything about the value but I think thats a very nice BMX. For 10 its a steal! I think you should keep it if you got the space.

Yeah, I have the space - I have been looking for a BMX of the same era for a few months and a little last year. Just happen to run across this at that rummage sale and couldn't resist offering them 1/2 of what they wanted...... Looks like it turned out to be better than expected.

It would also be known as a "Survivor" where most/all parts are in original, worn, condition but in good mechanical state.

Very happy with it  .

I actually liked the Dyno more than the Vertigo at first. Value-wise the Vertigo is far superior because of the color rarity.

I will be selling the Dyno.

Nice Rides!

I have a very good friend who is as into BMX bikes as we are into Blasters. He used to ride for Scorpion in 1983. He is in the process of building his old race bike out of parts he is tracking down on eBay and bike shops. He's $5,000 deep and not done yet! He just sold a 1985 GT that was rode in the Olympics and pulled a Bronze.

When he gets it done, I will get some pics with the Blasters!

That's a mid school bike, there's a scene who has specialized them on these kind of bikes...i'm collecting bmx bikes too and i have a 1998 gt pro series xl...got it for 300 bucks was very happy about that low price...anyway especially in europe its very hard to find older gt bikes...
