This is just weird enough that I had to post and ask about it here, in case there is some story behind it that one of you knows...

A couple years ago, I got my first GF-9000. There was one thing about it which was different from the next few I found: it had a sticker across the bottom part of the tape tray/cover, that come up about 2/3 of the way, leaving a strip above it where you could still see the top part of the cassette inside. The sticker is white, with a bluish stripe across it. The stripe is actually a double line: a darker line below and a paler one above, both identical in shape. There a "tick" or "vee" near the left side, so it almost resembles one of those heart monitor things. Reminds me a little bit of the "Bupa" insurance one, but reversed and without the upward-sticking spikes.

It looked pretty natural there, like it belonged there, so I left it in place. I picked up a few more of these GF-9000s since, but no others had that stripe, and I've never seen one online that had it (I just double-checked with Google images, and none show there, either.) So I figured someone just had this sticker and thought it would look good there, and stuck it on. It really seems to "fit" --visually it picks up the horizontal lines of the grill bars, and sort of connects them, with the blue line(s) level with the bottom of the grill bars. So it was a nice artistic touch. I didn't think much else about it for the next couple of years...

Until now. Here is the weird bit, that is puzzling me...

The other day I found another GF-9000, and I brought it home today. IT HAS THE EXACT SAME STICKER, IN EXACTLY THE SAME PLACE! WTF?!

It's hard for me to believe that it is pure coincidence that TWO of these fairly rare boxes would show up, a couple of years apart, with EXACTLY the same sticker in exactly the same place, if it wasn't somehow connected with how they were sold, or where they came from. What are the odds that two people would happen to have this exact box, and happen to have the exact same sticker (which I've never seen anywhere else), and happen to decide that the sticker should go right there on the tape-tray cover, and that I'd happen to find/buy both of those boxes? Miniscule! I'm sure there is a story behind this sticker, other than an extreme coincidence. but I'll be hanged if I know what it is.

Any knowledge/ideas, anyone? Does anyone else have a GF-9000 with this stripe sticker, and know what it is?

Does it look like this?

I'm not sure if that is an OEM sticker or maybe a custom job. The "heart beat" lines were definitely used by Sharp.
