maybe they should have spent money on putting in some better speakers, instead of blowing millions of $$$ on giving them out to celebrities

There's nothing wrong with the speakers in the i931 - it's the design of the interior of the box that's the problem.

Besides that, I'm sure that Lasonic - or any other electronics manufacturer, for that matter - doesn't have "millions" to give away to anybody for anything...
For most of those shots, the box is just a prop given to them by the photographer... Lasonic didn't pay/lose a penny to have those i931's put in their hands.

For $130 average price shipped they are not bad boxes... Especially when the original TRC931's were going for almost $200 in the 80's.....

Haha here in Europe we still must pay more than 250 euro (around 320 dollars) for them . But deffo we all need one of them around the house somewhere

When I went to the Lasonic Factory a year and a half ago I asked them about what they thought about their radio being used in all these commercials and if they were being paid for it.

First, they said no, they were not being paid for it

Second they said it has been great FREE advertising and has help define their product as the one and only true RETRO Boombox (unlike the TDK or others)

Still loven' my i931
