bit of advice

Hi, my immaculate Panasonic RX-DT707,which rarely sees daylight has developed a faint electrical /amp noise,which is transmited through the speakers,and is only present when any function is playing,at 0 or low volume.If for example you pause a cd,the noise goes,press play and it's back again! It's really bugging me as I got everthing else working!
Any advice on this would be great.

Could be a faulty ground or an issue with one of switches needing to be cleaned
