HI everyone...my fingers are still a little shaky :dunce:
I wanted to take a look at what is going on in my GF9696 to see if I could fix the tuner.
Anyway, I had it apart quite fast and had to see that it is waaay more complicated than the 850 I previously opened.
The problem was when I wanted to put it back together. The tape door did not shut anymore :dunce: :dunce: :dunce:
So I took it apart again to see what was wrong...after all an easy fix but that thing is really not designed to be put back together. The plate on top really sucks cause it blocks the way most of the time.
So after fiddling a lot ot was back together but there was a very bad sound always when it played...a little clicking sound that appeared regulary.
After almost taking it apart again I reste the tape counter and it was away again...but boy, this was really shocking :dunce: :-O

But I found out something important. I think the tuner is really disables..there is some wax-stuff on the plate and I do not think it was ther roiginally. It it the tuner part I think.

So it either goes to the repair shop in a while or it stays the way it is

I am really relieved now though :-P

The WAX is normal. But don't fiddle with it if you feel uncomfortable working your way around electronics.
