There are people that know my obsession with boomboxes
so yesterday i received a message from one of my contacts
to get a very big Taiwanese black boombox.
He was describing it to me but i wasnt sure what to expect.
This is what i got !

Tape Deck B is missing the pause button and the previous owner blacked the '' SUPER WOOFER'' written on both
speaker grills. Any idea on how to restore Original Writing in yellow is highly appreciated ! :)

Back in 2017 i had found this exact same model

A RIVIERA PST-1010 which was missing the battey cover. Still misses it.

Whats the connection between Venezuela where this boombox was assembled and Brazil for a late 80s Big boombox
to end up in here. Who brought it here? Whoever brought it , its now in safe hands ! :)
It is a big boombox for a traveller to carry around
from coutry to country as a tourist.

I gave it a thought and I figured one way to restore the Original writing '' SuperWoofer''
is maybe to remove the grills , then with the help of a marker on an A4 Paper follow the lines on where
the letters orinally where. Make a stencil then print it and cut it and spray paint the SUPER WOOFER in yellow .
Maybe i ll use the other grills from the RIVIERA aka boombox to do this stencil as a guide because they are visible.
When the time will come i will add pictures of the procedure if i do it :)

I don't get lucky on finding anything like that. I have my feelers out but nothing comes my way unless I pay dearly for it!

Trust me the trash man is your best contact for finding boomboxes my buddy TJ the trash man has brought me at least 10 golden era boom boxes all came from the trash and he saved them all for me. Hell he even delivers it to me and for nothing he won't accept anything.

Hello to everybody ! Heres whats new with the BESTAR.
I took it apart, it was missing most of its back screws.
Washed it and cleaned it with soapy luke warm water.
Sprayed contact cleaner at all contacts. I made a stencil with the help of
photoshop program and then i cut a hard carton with the SUPER WOOFER
letters. Tried to carefully paint it very lightly with a yellow paint and a soft brush.
I didn't spray paint it but i used a real paint. Here is the final result !! :)

Now i need to find a ''pause'' button thats missing and a capstan for cassette deck A which is autoreverse and use 2 capstans.
I need to lightly retouch the letters too with more detail.

This is a Colourful BIG BLACK Boombox which i love so much :) Definitely a HIP-HOP Boombox with plenty of Bass.

Good work, the lettering is what makes these boxes "vintage". All the badges and labels and inflated watts claims are part of the charm for me.

im always taking the pi$$ out of my mate who is nearly 60 walking around in shorts totally bald, i tell him to get some lip-gloss and a handbag lol.one of these days you just know something is gunna happen homie lol
