Best i-pod for i-931

Hey guys my 1st gen 40 gig i-pod shat itself on weekend and was wondering what the best replacement was
[in your guys opinion] for the i931. Might seem like as stupid question but i cant be bothered taking all the cartridges in
to try a new one out even though it states what model suits what.
opinions please..... just wondering what you guys roll with.

Did your hard drive lock up? If so, there are simple ways to remedy that.

Well I cant get anything to come up on screen at all. I am thinking totally knackered battery.
It is an old oldie ! Almost collectable haha..
