Best electronics for DIY boombox?

Ok, warning. This is my first post so I apologize if I missed a previous discussion.

I'm looking to make my own boombox to compliment my small but growing collection and I'm looking for the electronics. What kit/board should I get? What are the options? In my C100F case, I use a Chinese Amplifier bought from Deal Extreme.

Already bought some parts to make it a little like the original, I´m waiting for shipping this parts now! ...
About this amplifier has a good price ($17.00) and comes with the advantage of MP3 player(For USB data Storage or SD Cards), remote control, and auxiliary inputs, and a cranking sound with no distortions, even in volume set to maximum!!
