I popped my JVC RC-M70C cherry seems like it had never been worked on all the wires were in place with it's original lilttle plastic ties. I felt so guilty cutting them ties I like to keep my boxes original but one has to do it at times to keep the box going. The microphone wire was the biggest PITA!

I've read from another site the main belt size of the M-70 which is :

Main Belt: FRM 9.6 9731201CT which I'd tried to find it online but it is no longer available.

My question is can you get away with a SCA 9.6 belt?

Thanks for your help.

Try a FBS 9.6 (or FBM 9.6 belt if you can't find the small) You should find that those are common readily available belt sizes and they should work fine for you. The small belt is probably better than the medium belt. Another reference identified the capstan belt as 10.2" but I think that's too loose for reliable operation, especially if the pulley's have been polished from slippage.

Thanks Norm just placed an order on Turntable Needle.com for the FBS 9.6.

Fingers crossed that this belt helps resolve the problem.
