Haven't posted any pics of one or two new boxes I've scored.

Well, this is my recent-ish gorgeous Sharp 9000, I was so glad to get hold of one of these.

All works fine, ffwd and rew are getting sluggish which is typical of this era of Sharp.

It really is a beauty, and yes FD those VU backgrounds are like new.

Sound doesn't quite match the external appearance as many members have stated in the past, but it's not that bad IMO, way better than the Crown 5100.

Real nice top end and what seems to be a rather uneven bass response not bad at the low lows but then seems to lack upper bass 'thud' which gives an
impression of a weak sound but it has the capability to sound pretty decent when presented with 'compatible' source material.

Also, it's crying out for twin antennas to really finish off that ghetto bling look.

All in all, I'd recommend it as a unique, attention grabbing good looker and competent performer with a respectable array of features.

Oh, and pretty nice to work on too.

Nice find, 2steppa! :w00t:

The woofers in yours are so minty white!! The ones in mine are more cream.

I've noticed that the bass and treble sliders on yours are not original.

I agree 100% about it needing twin antennae to make it look even better! :-D

Well spotted RA.

One slider cap was missing so I replaced both with some others I had kicking around and to be honest they don't look bad at all.

That was the only downside to this machine but I've resolved it satisfactorily, either permanantly or until someone has originals up for grabs (unlikely).

Ohhh very nice!!

I think I need another one of these.. my current one is my most beat up box, and it pains me when I see how beautiful a
mint one like yours is 2steppa. She looks fantastic!

I replaced the speakers in my 9000 and she cranks HARD now, lots of bass and better contrast in the sound with the mids as
opposed to the 'flat' sound she has stock.

Don't mind replacing the speakers on my beater... but I'm not sure if could do it on a mint one like that!!

Rock On.

Out of interest Rick, what type of woofers did you use to replace the original ones? Also, do they still look fairly 'stock'?

i bet the gf 9000 would sound bad ass with some lasonic woofers ,would look almost stock but sound a hell of a lot better.

That Sharp Is beautiful and the white woofers just set it right into orbit!!!
Much better than the black woofer version.
BTW I see you havent learned your lesson with the car hood shots :nonono: :-P

Thanks Hemiguy

I put the box down ultra delicately and didnt rotate it or touch it during the shoot, so it was all good.

But you're right if I had scuffed the finish I'd have been pretty savage with myself :-P
