What's your opinions about this insanely priced Toshiba BB40 "gold model"

It's obvious the back side has been re-painted, due to the high gloss. The front seems to have been re-painted too, because you can see what looks like gray primer under the scuff marks in pics 5 and 10.

On whether it's a genuine G model, I think it probably is, because creating a fake one would require a lot of work. You would need to print custom green graphics for the tuner and meter plates, fabricate a red Toshiba badge and a MQJS badge, and move the "3 way speakers" badges down to the grills (and he didn't just glue them on. You can see in pic 4 that they're actually recessed into the grills).

But regardless of whether it's a real or fake G, it's obviously been repainted, and it's lame how that isn't mentioned in the auction. Buyer beware.

I think it’s a legit 913G but probably started out really rough before restoration. These eastern European guys are absolutely crazy with these prices. I mean you could buy a really decent classic car for that money. 11k For a radio!

Those things look kinda empty inside. The layout is similar to a Crown 850.
They sound good, but they're nowhere near as advanced as an S90

i'm starting to want one Reli,,,,the s90 is also empty inside my man, less inside than a crown 980....totally gutted mine sunshine so i know lol

would love to know which sounds better the s90 or the bb40...the bb40 has bigger speakers that much i know

totally agree Reli the m90 has better highs but that is it, i hardly use my m90 now if i'm honest but only have one left so i guess i'll keep it

About two years ago when I was refurbing my M90s, I needed to replace the aluminum pieces above the dial that are almost always damaged.
I couldn't find anyone making them so I decided to buy a brake, a sheet of aluminum and make my own.
After they turned out pretty well, I decided to sell a few to pay for the brake and aluminum.
I sold several on Ebay and then all of the sudden this vk seller dude popped up selling them.
Apparently he's not very bright because he ripped off both my title and the actual item description which kind of pi$$ed me off.
I see he's since changed the title and really trimmed down the description but his first three lines are still mine.
I know this doesn't have anything to do with the Toshiba but I needed to vent a little after seeing his name

That's a nice box but not $11,000 nice.

Ugh, I've watched this guy before although I don't think I've ever been able to watch a whole video right through.
In the video above, him prying the knobs and switches off with bare screwdrivers and forks is pathetic (or maybe just sad because of the damage he's doing).
