My new 3D printed blaster part.
Don't you hate it when the battery springs bend like limp spaghetti and cause the power to drop out when you're out and about? :nonono:

This keeper will fix that. It fits on the flat side of a D battery and, once all 8-10 batteries are in place, it forces the spring to stay aligned and make solid contact. No more drop outs while rocking out! :breakdance:

Pretty cool! A lot of boomers came with sleeves or "plates" at the contact for the flat side of the battery for the very reasons you mentioned. I have a few equipped like that. To bad it wasn't a universal concept. :-)

please post a front view of your contraption -- thanks
You had me there for a minute Ira asking to see the front view of his "contraption". :w00t:

But I now understand you meant the "battery keeper".

I suppose you could use a bottle cap if you can find one that has the correct inside/outside dimensions. :hmmm:

I measured a D battery, the inside of a battery compartment, then created the model in ViaCAD and printed it on my 3D printer.

I have them for sale; PM me if interested.

Yeah one thing you need to keep in mind is total outer diameter that could cause issues with battery cover not aligning properly ;-)
