Hi everybody!i would like to ask you a question:
what kind of battery do you use for your boomboxes?
is it possible to use 1,2 w D size rechargeable?Do you think that a boombox could work with less power than the one given by 1,5 battery?
Thank you in advance!

Hi!

Yeah, definitely! I use 1,2 V rechargables in my boomboxes
I am not technical expert but I think it is what happens anyway..when the boombox gains power from normal Ds, their voltage goes down...that is how the battery indicators work.
It would be plausible because my Crown 935 only shows 4 of 5 bars when I run it on fully charged 1,2 V rechargables :-)
Welcome aboard by the way! Ciao! ;-)

I haven't tried rechargables yet. It would be great if Sanyo came up with Mono D eneloop... So till that happens ... :-D ... I'm using Varta Industrial Mono D 4020 and I'm quite happy with them. Last incredibly long(!) in my Clatronic Super Jumbo - although the Jumbo only comes with 7W/speaker and doesn't drain batteries too much. If you're looking for good batteries see if you can get some of these.
1.5V of course, 16500mAh, cost 1€/battery

I used the 1.2 v rechargables back in the 80's in my CEC boombox,.when I ended up having to buy 8D cells at least once a day  I would just recharge every night and had a few hours of tunes to walk around with :-D
