Well, I finally got my antenna posts fixed/customized... Went to put the back panel on, I can't find my bag of screws....

Do any of you happen to know what thread/pitch the screws are for this? I see the top are a machine thread screws/bolts, but I don't have a clue about the bottom. Anyone happen to have any pics, or info on this, or should I just take my box into the hardware store and pick and choose?

Um i might have some
Yea? I need the complete set unfortunately, the machine thread ones on the top should be easy at the hardware store, but I'd definitely like the correct pitch/thread for the screws on the bottom, I kinda figured that might be harder to find correct.

If you happen to have them I'd love to order one of your straps for it too, you could just ship them at the same time, otherwise, I'll be pm'ing you about the strap anyways. I'm lovin' those blue ones.

Good tip for next time, is put the screws in a baggie then stick em to the speaker magnet!
Yea... I had done that earlier... but then... well, I put it together, except the back, figuring I'd fix it quick... a year later.... here I am... but ya know... I might just go check if I did that and forgot...

I always tape the screws to the panel they are for so that when you do go back a year later, they are right there, waiting. Also, to keep from leaving projects unfinished, I have a rule that you do not start a new project until you finish the previous one or it becomes one giant hoarding mess devoid of basic organization. We all have that 1 uncle we remember as a kid where you go into his garage & it's stuffed with junk taken apart & all chaos.

Haha, yea, I understand that. But unforeseen things occurred around the time I did it, just now getting back to finishing it... even though I've been using it for that entire year... can't stand my wife's "iHome."

I looked and apparently i dont have any spares. Sorry man
That's alright, thanks for looking! I'll still be checking with you about a strap.

I might just get some screws that are close, I was hoping not to mess up the thread in the box.

If you find some that are the right length and base diameter, you can avoid damaging or splitting the posts when you screw them in by heating each screw - so that its tip is blue - immediately before you put it into the hole. This way, it'll cut its own thread. Make sure & leave the screw to cool in the hole and screw them in very smoothly without the speed changing throughout, ideally with a nice slow battery screwdriver so that the movement is constant. My Hitachi 3D40 had no screws when it was given to me so that was what I did and it's all good. I've had it opened up a couple of times since, the screws are totally secure and can be tightened up to the same 1-3lb/ft as the originals would have been. When doing this DO NOT treat it like a normal screw cutting operation as stopping to turn back and clear the thread will in fact give the screw time to cool too soon and wreck the job and all of that plastic swarf in the hole is needed to become part of the new thread.
