Hello everybody
I found recently a Sound 4008 on a fleamarket.
Everything working OK but just one thing I can't figure out.
I noticed the AUX inputs on the side, but there´s no AUX position to be found on the controls.
Is it any way to connect a Mp3, laptop, turntable, ...?
any ideas?

Thank you in advance!

With no cassette in the player, activate the sensors that read the tape, and hit play and record while using the AUX in

On some boxes, you only need to press Record, not Record + Play

Phat looking box, by the way. I like the chome details on it. Does it sound good, or is it kind of cheaply built?

Same as Sanyo M9990... You should also be able to put in a tape and hit rec/play and pause... but be careful not to burn out your motor that way. :-/

Japan Built, I'm afraid to go to 10 inside the house!

Ok ran some tests, here's what I've got.

AV L+R inputs: Nothing at all!

Mic L+R imputs: While recording, leds move, but no sound.
But here's the weird part, when i put it on Radio or Sleep mode (don't need to record for this option), I get sound with a very high gain (must play music on laptop on maximal 1 or 2 loud) and with an annoying static background.

Of course the FM sender or Cable-Cassette options are a go, but I was hoping to use my boombox also as a home stereo to plug my laptop on the everyday.

There should be a remote plug next to one of the mic inputs, this is an on off switch for the motor so you just need to insert the right size plug and make sure the circuit is open (I.E. don't connect the wires).

WOW man! That's really interesting!
Right now I'm using one of those Cassette-Cable adapters and it sounds pretty good, but I'm afraid to burn the motor.
Gotta try that!

Thanx

There should be a 5-pin DIN jack on the side of that boombox. You can buy a DIN cord that hooks to your computer's headphone jack.

to be honest i never tested the inputs on mine before because it had a working deck, now this whole thread made me pull out my sound4008s, yes i own two of them and its exactly as sr. muerte describes above, aux nothing at all
the inputs are not working properly like on my other radios :hmmm: its not because of the gain, i can run the smartphone with half volume no problem
but if i make the smartphone silent i can hear the radio :hmmm:

YEAH! same here, I hear the radio too, I just put it on a dead frequency, but it is annoying.
Best solution for the moment, the FM sender (Works fine but needs batteries) or the Cassete-Cable (also fine but with risk of motor burnout).
Gotta try the MasterBlaster84 option to try to switch off the motor.
Will also give a shot to the DIN-5 input like Reli Suggested.

Well I tried the Switch input option like MasterBlaster84 said... JACKPOT!
Just inserted a spare micro-jack that I took off from an universal adapter into the REMOTE input and the motor just stopped running.
Just pull it out and the motor runs again.
YAY!!!
I'm testing the sound and how loud can I go right now with this (my standard sound test tune):
