Fellow enthusiests,
We've all been looking at Boombox pictures now for quite awhile, Our keenly trained eye looks at this box and immediately we know that it's light as a feather. We know that it has no inputs at all and we can even see inside and know that the belt has probably melted into a thick goo, the over all sound of the box is probably average and that's just in the first few seconds of looking right?

But wait, what about the good qualities of this fine cheapy?
It has a top notch metal handle with screws, as good as any fine Sanyo or Sharp.
It's got Sanyo speakers and a sturdy shell and oh yes, a basic standard row of LEDs.
Did our finely trained eye miss anything?
When friends stop and listen to us go on about the Boombox we are holding and how it compares to another one,
Do they really leave knowing the difference between a nice box and a cheapy if they've only ever seen one printed on a T shirt?

Is it possible to present a cheapy in a way that it looks stunning to the Layman and also turns the head of the most avid collector? Let's find out.
First the coats of paint, then we detail

Cheaply made boxes are what you buy when you first start collecting, after 5,6 years of collecting i no longer have the room or interest in cheaply made boomboxes, sorry to say i would just leave it there.

Oh yes, all this is true, but even knowing this, how come I keep taking little "Cheapy" home with me! :-D

Nice way to freshen up a little box, Maybe I should do that to this little guy!

...and how does it sound? pretty darn good for another Sears production with Sanyo guts.
It sounds nice and balanced, no whomping bass and no screeching highs.
Every man needs a hobby, now it's off to the club to see if the ladies go ooooh.
Cheers OSS :afro:
