Anyone else fall asleep to the sound of the radio?

This might be overkill but the Conion is the only radio I have that turns itself off when the tape ends

Anyone have a radio propped up on their headboard? Nothing is more relaxing than tunes at bedtime



I tried to use the Bumpboxx but it's actually hard to tame that beast. The slightest touch of the volume and it's too loud for sleeping.

One night I got it perfect and dosed off. Well the cat decided she wanted to rub her head against the side of the box with the knobs...lets just say we both went running. Never again!

The C100 can be tamed for night time pleasure

Most of my boomboxeshave the default/ off position as the tape selection. So once the tape ends it turns off.

A couple of them have dedicated power switches

Some have a timer or sleep switch usually on the power switch
which turns the unit off in one hour or so.
Sanyo does that.
so no cassette is runing

My preference is to fall asleep listening to some gentle classical music on the radio via a Sleep Timer function. A few times I've tried a variety of music genres on tape but, just as I'm about to reach The Land Of Nod, the sudden clunky tape mechanism will wake me at the end of play.

Summer nights during high school my favourite pastime was falling asleep to the night games of the Expos and Mets. A sunday afternoon nap with a game on is still a (very rare) pleasure.
