Keeping it simple is the key. I usually build a rectangular 'Boombox' shaped box with 2 internal vertical walls to separate the left and right speaker boxes and for the amp shelf.MyOhMy said:Good info, jimmyjimmy19702010.
I wasn't thinking of a suitcase style myself, more of plywood type cabinet with either a stained & varnished finish or covered in an eye-catching, yet robust, fabric/material with a little padding. With an all singin' n' dancin' CD/radio/MP3/USB/Aux/Blutooth stereo house in a decent cabinet with a plain top it'd be ideal for stacking a BB on. I can work with wood far better than electronics!![]()
Thanks again for the additional info, I'll come back to this when I have a clearer idea of my needs. The internal walls would also add strength and rigidity, fixing surfaces as well as allowing more choices for any handle configuration. Thanks again.jimmyjimmy19702010 said:Keeping it simple is the key. Keeping the speaker cabinets air tight is the key for creating strong bass. Keeping all components running on the same 12 volt voltage including your Bluetooth receiver is important for simplicity's sake.
Here is the thread from my first DIY V1.0 box - I use it daily - sounds best outdoors! No factory vintage Boombox can compete for outright power and bass with these wooden boomers!MyOhMy said:Thanks again for the additional info, I'll come back to this when I have a clearer idea of my needs. Nice! I saw a guy on YouTube who built a portable box with that amp - the push button switches are a cool touch.hardmen said:Jimmy, look this amp:

Works on 14~24v, TDA7294 50W RMS@8ohms in 24v DC built in Bluetooh receptor.
That one on pic is mine.
Plays HARD on 12v.
Handle "easy" the Panny A2 speakers...
A video showing the amp working with bookshelf speakers.
