Any NASCAR Fans

Been into this for about 3 years now although being in the UK veiwing can be difficult. The Chase (last 10 races) starts tonight in Loudon, New Hampshire and i shall be tuning in from about 4pm uk time. Anyone been to any NASCAR races or indeed going today?

I've been to two races at Talladega! (See my avatar and you'll know where I'm from. So easy for me plus it's a big deal here.) Haven't been keeping up as much as I normally do because of time constraints. I do intend to get to another race as soon as I can to take my son.

Just how big is NASCAR in the US compared to like basball and nfl etc?
Are you far from Talladega MS, Its difficult to get my head round the fact that your "local" speedway might be futher from you than another country might be from me, if you get what i mean. Either way mate im jealous big time and wish i was out there at the end of October.

Firs let me help you with a bit of info...

Talledega is in Alabama, Talladega County and just outside the city limits of Talledaga and Lincoln. I am about an hour away.

Regarding popularity though...

I have been to two races there and a few local Indy Car/Superbikes at Barber Motorsports Park which is 30 minutes from my house.

NASCAR is equal to the NFL, in the south anyway. However it is extremely popular across the country.
