Don't you hate the waiting period when you know a box has been sent but not delivered yet! especially when you know one is an A rating rarity.

I'm hurting right now waiting for the red van to show up :sad:

Im waiting for one now. They send by accident wrong package to meXD so i had to send it back :S, i hope it will come in two days

I'm nervously waiting for one that's supposed to be minty but the seller charged to little for the box and has not communicated other than to mark it shipped. :ninja:

:agree: This kind of wait can be stressful.

Yep, also been waiting for over two weeks fo a box to arrive. Contacted seller and it turns out the address label had come off and it got returned to sender. its on the way to me for a second time, hopefully arrive *checks clock* today :-D

I've also noticed that people are pretty lazy when it comes to shipping boomboxes :thumbsdown:

I'm waiting for a couple too.

Yeh I agree melly, I think it depends on the box too, if it is one you are really really wanting it makes it harder and if its from an ebay seller it doubles the pain.
What could be worse, ill and off work and sat waiting for the van to show up lol.

Anticipation of a new arrival is the best thing there is! The feeling of electricity in the air, The fact that you know the money transfer has taken place and that anything short of a destructive act of God or the postal service and that radio will be in your hands shortly. :yes:

The checking of the tracking number.... :-)
The pestering of the seller.... ;-)
The checking at the post office box for the little slip that says you have a package that needs to be picked up..... :-/

The ANXIETY of knowing that IT SHOULD BE HERE, BUT IT'S NOT! :-O

The Fact that it SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN 3 DAYS AGO..... :blush:

THE TRACKING NUMBER SAYS IT IS.....BUT NOTHING.... :annoyed:

THAT JERK AT THE COUNTER THAT KEEPS TELLING YOU THAT NOTHING IS THERE AND THEN YOU FIND OUT THAT THE PACKAGE HAS BEEN IN THE BACK THE WHOLE TIME AND YOU WAITED NEEDLESSLY AND THE ONLY THING KEEPING THAT BASTARD BEHIND THE COUNTER ALIVE IS THE FACT THAT HE/SHE IS A FEDERAL EMPLOYEE AND IF YOU STRANGLED THEM YOU WOULD DO LIVE IN A FEDERAL PRISON!

Yes it is strange and I totally agree but kind of love to hate it. That feeling, it is difficult to put in words. The excitement and anxiety of it all ! Couldn't have put it better Las.

Everyone's worse nightmare, well not quite but stay with me here.

This afternoon the usual time of around 2pm, awaiting the arrival of my 2nd boomer in transit and the van drives up the street to turn around as I live in a culdesac (dead end).
I'm thinking YES!!!! FINALLY!! as the van is turning round. I'm moving into a little jig almost popping into a full out boddy pop!

I set off towards the door and the van drives straight past! WTH!!! OI get back here with my boombox!!! :sad: :no: :sadno:

So the Mrs, being a lot brighter than me says it will be in customs, I'm like "no I don't think so". A few phone calls later and it's with customs and in transit to our local delivery depot with a charge attached to it :sad: :no: :sadno:

Another call later to the local depot and they don't have it yet but the charge is paid and I can call again in an hour or so to see if they have it yet and go and collect it!

After breaking out in a cold sweat and hoping now that they receive it within the next hour so we can go collect it, there is a small light at the end of the tunnel.

Fingers, toes and any hairs you have left on your body crossed that they have it! This one is going to be worth it!!

The box i was waiting for, i collected from the depot today. Its a Sharp gf-5757 in pearl colour, its smaller then i thought it would be and the sounds.....good :hmmm: i really like the look of it all the same. It needs a bit of a clean then hopefully some pics tomorrow.

Sorry docs, hope i wasnt rubbing salt :sad:

Looking forward to those pics! The 5757 is a great looking radio, I've never owned one, but many people here speak highly of them

Yeh no problem, glad your 5757 arrived safely its a nice looking stereo as Las said.

My story continues unfortunately it hadn't arrived at the local depot but it should at midnight tonight and we can go and collect it tomorrow morning.
This is a box that has been on my want list but is an extreme rarity for over here in the UK. Hopefully pics will come tomorrow :-D
