Hmmm, he says Awesome description in the subject then good condition in the description. That's quite a wide swing plus it's missing the record button, no you can't run down to Radio Shack and pick up a replacement. 
All you need to do is look at the bid history and you'll understand that the bidding on this is just a sham.

Where's the fall down laughing while busting a gut smiley, that's just so crazy I have to laugh like hell. Congrats to the seller, that is an awesome number if it's real and the buyer pays.

It could easily be two newbies with a lot more money than brains going at it, I don't see anything in the bid history that yells BS. The low feedback or excessive bidding is not a guarantee that it's a sham, I've seen bid histories like this on a lot of completely valid auctions.

True, often there's no rhyme or reason to the prices. It's gambling in it's pure form, both buying and selling.
If we looked at this just from the money perspective I'm afraid we lose when we deal with ebay unless your buying local for $10 and selling on ebay for $500.
Fortunately we are able to look beyond it since it is a hobby and not a business.

I can't sell a fisher 460 for $40 or an Aiwa 950 for $125 but some dolt will pay $836 for a Lasonic 931?
Trying to figure this out will only give us a headache.
