Another mad creation...JVC PCV2J dressed in black and red...

I was at home bored today and listening to my JVC PCV2J and although it has very pleasant sound with surprising deep bass it is a VERY ugly box. I decided to accentuate the red accents by adding more red and repaint the damaged black parts. Still isn't the prettiest box but she is a lot easier to look at now... ... Here are the before and after pics...

...thanks Ira...this one was by far the most difficult to paint because of all the small areas I had to tape off for painting...it took forever to tape...but well worth the effort...

...thanks for all the great comments fellas...I really value all opinions...this project really turned out much better than I had hoped...turned the ugly duckling into a pretty swan...bad news is I have run out of project boomboxes and I will have to surf ebay for some more... ...darn!!!

Wow, you've had some fun there

Personally, I liked the black, stealth, mean look of some early 90s boomers, like this one, but I know what you mean, definitely not everyone's taste.
When they started going all rounded off corners & "egg"y things really got bad.
At least when JVC made the PC-V2, they weren't yet skimpng on quality & features - it's one fully loaded boomer.
Have you noticed that the 5 band EQ on it has a more pronounced effect than some?
