I think it's kind-of unbelieveable. Analog TV has always been here and they are taking it away. It's wierd to me and I don't know why.

For some reason, Analog TV is supposed to end at 12:00AM and I turned my Black&White TV on and my local channels were already gone. Odd.

It is definitely sad. I just hope that analog radio signals last forever.

Oh my god, I never thought of that.

But then again, in comparison between TV analong and Radio analog, alot more people use the Radio. You got millions who have Satellite dishes and Digital TV Boxes for their TV and about a million who have Analog. Who doesn't have a vintage or modern boombox that they use?

I think it will stay around.

i too fear a switch to digital radio more, the digital tv upgrade is no biggie for us,we have cable and had a dish before.
I'm sadder my tv boxes can't be used now

but if i am not mistaken digital radio has been out for awhile and sending signals along with analog unless you have a radio that can pick digital you will only hear regular analog the whole thing with digital is the ability to have 4 channels on a frequency,, the whole thing is to use the bandwith in a good way ,, but in the contrary with amatuer radio a lot of guys like the essb or widening of the banwith with the voice which eventully the fcc will probably have that to go to a digital voice :-) :-)

I think this whole analog switch thing sucks.

Why can't we keep it simple and just keep it.

I don't know about you guys but I'm going to be very annoyed if our analog tuners on our boomboxes ever become obsolete. At that point it will be very important to have a line-in to plug in an outboard digital radio tuner.Of course if your box isn't so equipped,I suppose an old FM transmitter will help.Lets see :hmmm: ...a digital tuner plugged into an analog FM transmitter beaming a signal to the analog tuner of your favorite blaster. How confusing is that  ?

I think the switch over took place at 12:00 noon today, I don't care about the TV but I used to listen to local 6 news on 87.7 and now all there is is static.

the TV stations didn't want to do it, the Govt made them because they needed the analog frequencies for something else.

OFF TOPIC ALERT :eek:fftopic: :eek:fftopic: :eek:fftopic: :eek:fftopic:

"if it was we would still be livin' in 1995.
HIP HOP IS DEAD."

I'm not trying to start anything with you or be a wise as-, as I don't know you at all, but to me hip hop was long gone way before 95, at least "real hip hop my man", I like old school hip hop, Sugarhill, Grandmaster Flash, DST, Spoonie Gee, back in the time where every rap wasn't about bitches and ho's,

OK back to the topic at hand, this has been a public service message by me ( and my 989th post come on 1000!! , lol)

Oh yeah, I agree with you 100%. I love rap like that too. Grandmaster Flash, Afrika Bambaataa, Treacherous Three, everything.

But if you think about it, 1995 was a REALLY huge year for hip-hop. So many jams, and sadly Yo! MTV Raps went off the air.
