Amazing present for turning the big 4 0

Late last month I turned 40. :'-( Funny thing, feels a lot like 20, just less hair in some places, more hair in others.
My wife organised an amazing open house and we had people arriving all day and night, it was great.
Had boomboxes all over the house.
My children wanted to give me a boombox, so with my wife's help they presented me with this.....

Needed four new drivers as all had severe foam rot , tricky as it had 2 two ohm drivers per side wired in series.

With help from my speaker guy, changed over to two 8 ohm running in parallel - Easy!
Everything else works almost perfectly, my god is it LOUD!

I have been looking at these radios! There is a guy on S2g from Hong Kong that posts videos of them all the time. I think he may have a store, he shows pictures of a store front window with 20 or more.

Question? Does it play on batteries? If so how many?

I could see this being a GREAT beach box! Especially the way the speakers swing out, you could get some real distribution of sound!

Very clean!! But a bit of a shame to not just refoam the speakers, still, I'm sure it sounds better with newer ones in her overall.

A real party machine that one!

i got one.
mine needs new foam now.
i had two at one point but sold one.
its one of those boxes you have to hear to believe. i mean the volume that came out of the speakers on mine before i blew it up was stunning.
it might not have the bass of some boxes but believe it when people who own one say it is loud.
really really really loud.
