When space becomes an issue, there's nothing else you can really do but stack your boxes.I get nervous going over 5 high for human or pet animal safety reasons.I also worry about the stress weight can put on the lower boxes in a stack even at 5 high.Should weight pose a problem or is the plastic really sturdy enough? How high have you guys stacked boxes either presently or in the past?Have you had mishaps doing this or found damage due to excessive weight on the lower units?I'm looking for stories, opinions, and evidence from you guys if you have any. :-D

jovie i try to use a rack i mean 1 or 2 might not be a problem but when you stack too many too many thing can go wrong ,, maybe a used plastic rack could serve better.... :-)

Come on Jovie, don't cause us to lose faith in your ingenuity.

Heres a little trick I learned while visiting 8-Track in Lakeland in 2004:

Just stack them side to side on the floor and then lift them up with a10 Ft 2 X 6, like the kind you use for a big family beating.

Assuming you have already treated the wall with spray adhesive (any Michael's or JoAnne Fabric store, Aisle 3, about half way back)
you are set for another row.

If no craft shop nearby use inexpensive hot glue or sugar based prechewed gum.

I know at least one member here has over 100 which is more than in my collection.I have to wonder how one deals with that sort of volume.I seriously doubt they have all of them shelved.

Interestingly,I'm reminded of those amazing stories "Arkay" related on S2go.He spoke of wholesale warehouses in Hong Kong having collections of used boxes stacked to the ceiling.I suppose if they can withstand that much weight,I shouldn't worry so much. After all,I'm careful enough to keep them from being scratched. The strategic use of paper and bubble wrap helps things.

I suppose I should have thinned out my collection a long time ago.The fact of the matter though is that I continue to stack and unstack them as I'm still wanting to use most of them.I'm able to listen for some hours at work and I'm always wanting the different experience. Some people will graduate to bigger better sound and play favorites. This is not something I tend to do.For this reason,I'll consider getting rid of something but I will always eventually change my mind.
