  1. Buy the one with fabric with rubber coated woofer surrounds and single cassette decks. Double cassette decks are a pain to work on.
  2. Don't get burnt with the APM speakers with foam surrounds.

This is all from my experience.

They ALL sound phenomenal, but the decks are all very difficult to repair. The original FH-3 to FH-7 are battery capable (the 7 will need the optional rare as hens teeth battery/amp adapter for this) The higher numbered ones are typically AC only and has lots more plastic than the very heavy original ones, but sound great and has very hard hitting bass. Finding a 100% operational one might be a bit tough, but failure is generally in the deck area so if you don't care about the decks, then these are some of the best sounding, best value boomboxes around. I have never personally seen any FH series with rotted foam surrounds.

The FH7 is a great machine...this one is going cheap as I just don't do 3 piecers :-) Trade or cash, will sell cheap to a member who will appreciate it more than me :-) image.jpeg

I managed to pick up a very hefty FH-7 locally a few days ago from the original purchaser, a bargain at £10.50. :-D (Handle spring and 2 x rubber feet req'd)

i have a boxed 909..no other box can touch them, Hisrudeness had one just as good with twin tape but the model no escapes me

yea, you had a different one sunshine, i belive you sold her though lad, my 909 is going through major surgery, it blew loads of things but in derect contact with my tech now, i cut the middle man out, he just turned out to be you're typical a class scrounger like most here, he yoused to charge 15 quid for a 5 min walk to my tech lol

I had a 215...wasn't a double deck.
