I too have this boombox and IMHO this is a pinnacle of design and quality, matched in high end sound.
Its not a Ghettoblaster style boomer, but it is unbelievably well made, and its architecture is superb.

Mine has a unique personality all its own............... it is a very social box, enjoying getting around, and is partial to Old German Pop Music.

And on a sentimental note : It is Jens' One and only favorite and his Logo for the BBDB

Great score NZ Boom! These are pure quality, I agree wholeheartedly with everything Ed said!

Especially about the German pop!

Must be 950 week as I scored another one this week too.

Can't have too many of these works of audio art!

Rock On.

I have to say I was seriously impressed by the sound of this unit.

Rich, deep and full sound, no harshness, just a nice fluid 'hi-fi' tonal quality.

And whaaaat a sweet looker too :surf:

The 950 has a perfect hi-fidelity sound to it. Very clean and detailed. Every collection needs one!

Since getting one not too long ago it has become one of my absolute favorites as well...

It delivers surprising performance on only 6 D-cells.

As a possible frame of reference that might help some of you guage this Aiwa..., the box I find that it most sounds like is the Sanyo M9990, which is another one of my favorites... Similar size and weight, too.

Both box's tape decks are good, but, the TPR is better when using the line-in device as it does not require the tape deck to be in "record" mode to push signal from the line-in through the amp.

So, what almost everybody is basically saying is, is that I should (eventually) cop one of these Aiwa's... :hmmm:

Then again, I should follow my own advice.
