Aiwa tpr 920 part

Hello. I found this part in the cassette deck compartment. The cassette is working (on some cassettes) but is playing slightly slow. I did just get the little rubber tire that controls the take up wheel while playing a tape. Fast forward and rewind seem ok. Not sure where this part goes or what it does? Or is it contributing to the problem? Thanks.

It might sound stupid but it looks like the record tab that pokes into the top square hole in the tape when you press record.

JVC is right on it. It is a record tab detect switch

Ok thanks guys. Do you think it will effect the tape play? It’s playing slightly slow.. ff and rew seem ok. A little tire was just replaced that drives the take up wheel during play (not sure if it’s called an older tire?). So maybe that’s why it’s playing slow?

If this piece is missing . You can erase any cassette tape by pressing record button accidently. And It has nothing to do with your slow speed issue.
