Aiwa HS-GS392

Got a Aiwa auto-reverse cassette player today for $1.

It is the Aiwa HS-GS392 and is from the 1990's.

Most likely it was released late 90's, probably sometime from 1996 until 1999.

Features include:
-auto-reverse
-Aiwa's multi sound processor effects with 4 presets:
classic,jazz,rock and pop
These are selected using a jog wheel on the front
-Dolby B NR
-Ear Guard
-battery life is rated at 24 hrs
-auto-reverse modes: foward and reverse/play one side/both sides. Latter is selected via a switch on the right side of the HS-392, while the former is via a switch on the top

Nice find for a buck, my local good will charges $3 for lesser units that don't work and are missing the battery doors.

Yes-it was a excellent find.

As for sound quality, I like the Aiwa's "MSP" (4 preset sound modes selected via a jog like wheel on the front)-this can give a nice sound.
