Hello, I need your help for my AIWA CS-880.
After changing the belts, when reassembling then replacing the hook of the REC bar on tape player:
No more sound from the headphones or the speakers. MS program switch OFF
Tape plays, VU meter moves, Tuner works.
Nothing burned or slammed.
Any idea how to help me fix it please

I would re check that record bar if there's anything off with that it'll never be right.
Thank you Floyd, always there to help.
I visually checked the record bar and again cleaned with deoxidizer. the welds seem correct. However, I don't know how to check this record bar with a multimeter.

Are you positive you have everything plugged back in?
Did you try moving the rec switch back and forth while playing music to see if there's a difference?
Note: If you want to try the cassette player, you don't want to use a good tape as it will erase/record you as you move the switch back and forth.

Hello, the test is performed by pulling the metal stem of the record bar. It works because the needles of the VU meter return to zero but still no sound...

Hello, the test is performed by pulling the metal stem of the record bar. It works only with RADIO fonction because the needles of the VU meter return to zero but not working with TAPE fonction. Still mute

My only other suggestion would be to play with the input Jacks and I don't know if these have an external speaker Jack but if it does I would check that too I used to own one but I can't remember.

Maybe the preamp board connection to main PCB.
I'm starting over from scratch. Thorough reading of the service manual with verification of the operation of the 11 circuits boards.
Only the B.REC/PB, D.MUSIC SENSOR, E.DSL and G.MONITOR circuits boards are not powered. With the multimeter and the diagram, I go back from the power supply and find no electrical voltage on the pin of the emitter of transistor Q41 (2SC1846) of the amplification.

What voltages are at collector and base?
There are a bunch of fusible resistors in that circuit, I'd start there and see if they test out. R163, R164 and R135.

Hello, The collector and base pin voltages are correct. Only the transmitter is at 0V. I checked R163, R164, R135 and all fuse resistors are OK. I buy a new 2SC1846 transistor. We'll see. Thank you for your comment

Take c170 out of circuit or lift emitter leg so it is disconnected from the pad and test voltage of emitter again.
C170 could be pulling to ground if it is open.
