This elusive Aiwa survived this bad packaging and journey from Australia to the UK intact.
Not a perfect example as it has some pitting and one ding but happy to have it as they’re are so uncommon.

Beauty Rory, It is a small miracle that it arrived unscathed because the packaging is shocking.

Really cool! Love all that blue! I have a 660,770,926 and they’re cool boomers! But this is unique with the cassette on the top.😎📻

As for the box, it’s quite small. Smaller than a Panny C52. It doesn’t have bass control but it has DSL.
The problem is that the DSL is not variable so it’s kind of all or nothing and it doesn’t cope very well if you’ve going past 4 or 5 on the volume.

I think sometimes less packing actually works better lol. I seen **** just thrown in that makes it OK, and I seen over packed boxes get turned into rubble.
Please keep I'm mind if you ever decide to part with it , Skippy has been after one for ages .

I kinda wish I more decent smaller boxes.

WOW, what a beauty! I just gotta have one of those beauties but, from your post, I'd think these are as rare as hen's teeth.

Methinks you could have saved on postage costs, judging by all those individual stamps on the packing box, the weight of the stamps alone must have added to the price.

These are rare and its even hard to find one for sale.

The deck looks like the same one used in the 770/880.

As soon as I saw outside my front door I was thinking ‘Oh SHlT, here we go!’
I know that feeling all too well. It sucks but I'm glad it arrived safely.

Heck, I've had great looking boxes show up with parts flying around inside. You just never know.

Very beautiful looking box - I agree we other people’s sentiments regarding the strikingly crisp blue colour used throughout.

Would you consider that box a competitor to an Hitachi 3D7 for example? (Sound output)

Congrats,

James..... :-)

Someday......... :-/
I know AIWA KING Scott is drooling for one for years and I look out for him all the time! :-D

That cute box is comparatively light to bounce around and break like a GF777.

After all if it is light or heavy, if not packed well they all can get damaged easily.
Lucky it arrived in good shape!

Cool Box Man I love it, i know what you mean with the bass, you get that problem with a lot of boxes, sharp is most annoying when trying to set the level right with the bass, i get that "either too much or not enough" feeling with them.

Agree with you Paul, the Sharp brand sums it up for their audio quality, it's just very sharp and lacks depth on almost all of their units.

I’ve not really got into any of the Hitachi 3D range so can’t compare James. If I’m truthful then I’m a little bit disappointed with the sound. It gets outclassed by small Panasonic’s the same size. C60 C50 C52 etc.
When I get a chance to open it I’ll take a closer look at the condition of the speakers.

Just the shipping can be very $$$ from down under!

It looks as if though someone was trying to take a peep. :nonono:

Glad it got to you safe and the box is bad ass love the style for sure!!!

I just fired up my RX-C45 and was reminded how bassy that little box is at low to medium volume.
