Hey all-
I've been picking up boomboxes for the last year now. I've found all of these locally....from Craigslist, thrift stores, flea markets etc....Never had anything shipped! Anyways here is picture of what I've gotten over the last year! My basement arcade now has a Boombox theme! I usually have them scattered around the basement on top of different machines, but I grouped them togehter for this picture!

Ive been looking for one of those gold ones in the center of your picture for so long now I cant even remember what brand it is!

I had one years ago that didnt work, sold it to a hip hop video producer and it was actually used in a video.

How does it sound?

Nice collection by the way... I cant believe you found some of those gems local! Non shipped boxes are the best, something about them.... just a tighter 'feel'.

The Gold boombox is a Tecsonic MX-900. It sounds pretty good....but not like a Conion or JVC though. It is a cool looking box that I found locally. I do like finding them locally....plus saving on shipping is a plus!

I agree! Boomboxes and arcade games almost go hand-in-hand. You gotta love Donkey Kong!!

Although my boomers don't quite compare to your lot, i do have an original red-cabinet donkey kong :-P and tempest! :-P

Tec, you have the best collection per ratio of days collecting and minimum distance travelled in the world. To have scored all those beautys local is phenomenal.

If i stuck to local finds only i'd have 4, but i'd have alot more money in my pocket :yes:

that's a street fighter jamma board machine in between donkey kong and 720. didn't you have a mame cabinet next to dig dug! hahahahaha what's up MARK! it's brian from jersey. remember i bought those jamma boards off you earlier this year? what's goin on brother? how have you been how is the baby and your wife? and of course all the pinballs and videos. i can't believe i ran into you on here. anyway. wow i think the last time i saw you, all you had was the lasonic 931 right? i don't remember. anyway. nice collection man. i wish i could find boomboxes locally. i'm not trying to go nuts with it, but i do want a few beast boxes. talk to you later.

LOL.....small world! Games and the family are doing good...I've just about ran out of room for the pinball machine and arcade games, so I've been playing around with the boomboxes. I'm going to give my arcade a boombox theme. Anyways if I ever do a local get together, I'll be sure to invite you!!
